10 Memorable Rock Bands Who Only Released ONE Album

5. Blind Faith, Blind Faith (1969)

The supergroup of supergroups, Blind Faith brought together Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, Steve Winwood and Ric Grech in early 1969 following the breakup of Cream. Within six months they had an album out and were playing their first gig in Hyde Park to a crowd of nearly 100,000 fans.

Their name represents the confidence everyone had that the band would be a success, and, for once, everyone was right. But, like shooting stars, the group were gone almost as soon as they had arrived, disbanding at the end of their initial tour.

Blind Faith left us with their eponymous debut, a richly crafted blues rock record with controversial artwork, written collaboratively by all four members, and including a cover version of the Buddy Holly B-side 'Well All Right'. Despite tepid reviews upon its release, the music has stood the test of time, allowing us a tantalising glimpse into one of the greatest "what-ifs" in history.

Though Winwood and Clapton still play some of the band's material live, Baker and Grech have since passed away. We may never see their like again.
