10 Metal Bands That Went Acoustic
5. Cirice - Ghost
If there's any band that shouldn't really belong in the same area code as soft spoken, it would have to be Ghost. The very thought of making a slowed down and sensitive song from the guys who brought you some of the most glorious Satanic chamber music of the 2010's sounds dreadful even saying it out loud. When it comes to Tobias Forge though, you're dealing with a lot more than just the spooky sounds.
Long before taking the swan dive into unchartered territory with Prequelle, Cirice was already a sign that the tides were turning for these metal heavyweights. Across every single second of this song, it almost feels like Ghost are settling in on a groove that is a lot more soft and (*gasp*) even accessible for the non metal crowds.
Though the actual studio version of this song is amazing, the real show stopping rendition of this song on acoustics is glorious on its own, if only for the pure novelty of these guys donning the makeup and ghost get-ups while performing on stools. While the actual showmanship is toned down, the actual talent present here is respectable for people even outside of the Satanic chamber music stripe. And to think we still had stuff like Square Hammer coming just around the corner in the next few years.
