10 Mind-Blowing Facts You Didn't Know About The Beatles
8. A Number Of Mistakes Made It On To Records
Despite having one of the most consistent discographies in music history, the Beatles' back catalogue includes several mistakes, errors, and anomalies that managed to find their way onto official releases.
That isn't meant to disparage the band. While for most of their career The Beatles had access to the premier recording equipment available at that time, almost all of it would be considered horrifically out-of-date by modern standards, with the process of altering a small mistake much more difficult than it would be on entirely digitalised equipment today.
One of the most famous errors in the history of the group comes in the hit single, Hey Jude. At around 2:58 of the track, a voice that has since been claimed to be either Lennon or McCartney says "f*cking hell" on one of the backing tracks while McCartney sings the word begin.
But this is just the most notable of the group's auditory oversights.
