5. Carneia
For fans of Tool, this Belgian post-metal outfit are rapidly forming a strong international reputation. Consisting of members from King Hiss and Miava, Carneia are renowned in the Belgian underground scene for their electrifying live performances and emotive sound.
Since their official arrival onto the scene in 2013, Carneia have released three full-length studio albums, with 2019's 'Voices of the Void' earning them a spot at this years Alcatraz Festival (if it goes ahead).
However, earlier records such as their debut, 'All Tongues of Babel', takes a distinctly different approach to their more recent material. Initially Carneia thrived off a dark, raw sounding post-metal vibe, but not their approach is much more considered and calculated.
The band's second record, 'Symmetry of Mind', only consists of four songs, but in true post-metal fashion runs for over 35 minutes. Top songs from Carneia include 'Jerk', 'The Making of the Universe' and 'Black Coffee'.
