10 Most Anticipated Albums Still To Come In 2017

1. American Dream - LCD Soundsystem

They said they were done but thank god they were lying. After 2010's release of This Is Happening, James Murphy and co. said that would be their final act, culminating in the funeral that was their Madison Square Garden show, documented in the movie Shut Up And Play The Hits.

When most fans of the group had finally reached the acceptance stage of their grief, they were given some Christmas cheer, in the form of surprise release Christmas Will Break Your Heart. It gave further fuel to the rumours that the band were set to reunite in 2016, with a slot at that years Glastonbury Festival being strongly hinted at. Not long into the New Year and we finally received confirmation in the form of a headline slot at Coachella being announced, while Glasto also followed suit later in the year.

As with any reunion, there were the usual worries that the band were just looking to cash in and would soon leave the stage soon after. Thankfully, storming festival slots and promises of new music quickly put any of those doubts to bed and we finally got fresh tunes in April, when the band performed in Brooklyn. Two songs from that night (Call The Police and American Dream) got given a wider audience during a performance on Saturday Night Live and all worries of LCD Soundsystem retreating had totally evaporated.

The new record, which takes its title from the track American Dream, drops on 1st September (just a couple of weeks before a short tour of the UK) and if the songs we've already heard are anything to go by, it promises to be a banger.
