10 Most Anticipated Upcoming Metal Albums Of 2017
3. Cradle of Filth – Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness Of Decay (22 September)
Extreme metal act Cradle of Filth will release their twelfth studio album this year – the first since 2015’s Hammer of the Witches. Entitled Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness of Decay, the album is said to be inspired by Victorian gothic horror.
That influence can be heard on the two songs released so far: “Heartbreak and Seance,” and “You Will Know the Lion by His Claw.” Both of them dwell in the realms of symphonic metal, reaching moments of epic brilliance, as well as getting down and dirty with some huge riffs. Everything about this album so far screams big, so we’ll be surprised if it’s anything but monolithic.
Since 1991, Cradle of Filth have been putting out their unique brand of heavy metal. Over 25 years on, and they’re still blazing a trail with their trademark sound.
