10 Most Disappointing Rock & Metal Albums Of 2020
1. Green Day - Father of All...
As the saying goes, 'form is temporary, but class is permanent', and it seems that Green Day have been severely out of form since about 2009.
'Father of All' is the punk trio's thirteenth studio album and was released some 30 years after their debut, '39/Smooth'.
From 1994-2004, it seemed like Green Day couldn't put a foot wrong as they continously released classic punk albums such as 'Dookie', 'Insomniac' and 'American Idiot'. This spark has almost completely evaporated from their modern music though, as they sound more like a motown rock band these days than the unapologetic punk upstarts they once were.
'Father of All' follows Green Day's rather repetitive 2016 album, 'Revolution Radio', which offered few surprises. This record goes the opposite direction however, giving fans absolutely nothing they were expecting in the positive sense.
