10 Most Emotional Rock Albums Ever Made

4. Made in Heaven - Queen

Considering what his diagnosis had given him at the time, it's a miracle that we had Freddie Mercury for as long as we did. Even though his doctors had told him in the late '80s that he would be dying of AIDS in the coming months, Freddie soldiered on and managed to put out albums like Innuendo with Queen while still sounding like a powerhouse. Freddie's life was always an extension of his work, so he didn't even let death stop him on Made in Heaven.

Shortly after wrapping up the production on Innuendo, Freddie was determined to write as much as he could before he succumbed to his disease, working every day that he felt up to it and giving it everything he could once he was in the studio. After a few sessions though, Freddie was not going to survive to the end, eventually calling in the rest of the band to finish off the album once he had departed.

What the fans got were some of the most haunting performances of Freddie's career, as we listen to a man weeks away from his passing still trying to give us the image of the one that stirred us into a frenzy at Live Aid just a few years before. At a time when Freddie could have been spending the rest of his days with his loved ones, he still cared about his craft, and leaving on a high note like this is probably what he would have wanted. Since he was a child of the stage, this is the kind of final bow that Freddie deserved.
