10 Most Hated Classic Rock Songs (From Great Bands)
5. I Was Made For Lovin You - KISS
KISS are one of the most awe-inspiring acts to ever come from rock's golden age. Donned in horrific stage makeup and ominous costumes, the band created one of the greatest live shows of the genre, from the bombs going off to the smoking guitar from Ace Frehley. The music was always as hard-hitting as the show, with gargantuan riffs and insane hooks that were the epitome of hard rock excess.
Though the band had a career victory lap from their second massive live album Alive II, they never seemed to get on the same page afterwards. With everyone taking a break to make solo albums, the band's next proper record Dynasty began the descent of the band.
While the album does have its bright spots, hard rock fans were having none of "I Was Made For Lovin You." Being the long-haired kings of the world, these guys had no business hopping on a song that sounded like it should have been a long-forgotten B-side from Donna Summer. Though the song is pretty decent by pop standards, the push-back from this one tune was so strong that many diehard fans outright refused to accept this new version of the band. KIwould eventually have a more hard rock flavored version of the tune on the live stage, but at the time, this showed that the hard rock demons were indeed fallible.
