10 Most Legendary Horrible Gigs In Rock Music History

4. Creed's Lawsuit Show

There's a certain weight that comes with every performance put on by a successful rock band. You have tons of fans waiting for you on the other side of the stage who paid good money to see you perform, so you better be on your A-game no matter what when you actually step up on that stage. It's okay if you're not at 100%, but it's something else entirely when you have fans calling you out on your BS.

During Creed's run of shows during the '00s, Scott Stapp was having a drinking problem and clearly wasn't taking care of himself by the time he reached a gig in Illinois. After struggling through the first handful of songs, Scott had clearly had enough and proceeded to sing the rest of the songs while laying down on the stage, or at least that's what everyone thought happened. As the band tried to keep everything going, Scott also fell asleep on the stage as well, only saying a few things into the mic before the band had to pull the plug on the gig.

That was not acceptable for some fans though, as four of the audience members took the band to court, saying that they were not given the show that they were promised. It would be a few more years before Scott cleaned up his act properly, but every up and coming band should really take this as a lesson. Your fans may be your biggest strength most of the time, but they can also turn on you real quick if you rub them the wrong way.
