10 Most Overhated Bands In Rock

4. Muse

Muse have made a name for themselves as one of the greatest hard rock bands still going today. The band's amazing sense of melody combined with the stratospheric screams of Matt Bellamy has put them in the top tiers of musicians for decades now. Even though the band has developed their own identity, they still seem to get people negating them for wearing their influences on their sleeves a little too much.

In the band's inception, their mix of spacey sounds with ethereal vocals seemed very reminiscent of something like Radiohead, but the band have been able to craft their persona by adding jawdropping musicianship to their arsenal. Across albums like The Resistance and Absolution, the band have created some of the most eclectic rock albums of the modern age, comprising everything from classical passages to operatic rock sections to heavy metal ragers.

Many music connoisseurs may call the band's music mediocre, but you can't deny how much emotion the band are able to pack into these tunes. There are always going to be rock fans who hate Muse for not being Radiohead, but given Thom Yorke and co.'s move away from the mainstream rock realm, these guys are still a more-than-worthy band who can carry the torch for hard rock going forward.
