10 Most Underrated Indie Rock Albums Of 2020s (So Far)

1. Shame - Drunk Tank Pink

Rounding out this underrated selection of eclectic talents is arguably the most varied and impactful of the bunch as South London's Shame delivered the deeply overlooked Drunk Tank Pink onto our lives last year.

Acting as the perfect summary of a time spent locked away from the rest of society, the likes of Alphabet's lyrics of "Are you waiting to feel good?" likely hit more than a few nerves for those sat staring through their rain soaked windows as the pandemic confined us in our homes.

But it isn't all about words shaped from out-and-out boredom or being locked out of your gaff (seen in Born in Luton) as the quintet consistently rip up the rulebook and shift you around with sudden tempo and stylistic changes. Harsh Degrees in particular leaves your face melting off your skull, whilst Station Wagon expertly eases you in before the mother of all climactic conclusions.

Regularly rampaging but with moments of much needed softness and vulnerability in the likes of Human, For A Minute, seek out Shame's ode to boredom, returning from the road, and readjusting to life's changes for a frequently riveting old ride.
