10 Most Underrated Metal Albums Of The 2000s

9. Exit Ten - Remember The Day (2008)

A hidden gem of the 2000s MySpace era, Exit Ten were a 5-piece from Reading, England, who on their first album - 2008's 'Remember the Day' - blended metalcore, prog metal, and post-hardcore. The result was a sublime concoction of delightfully over-the-top riffs, backed by some chonky of-the-time chugging, with Ryan Redman's incredibly powerful voice taking centre stage.

'Resume Ignore' was re-recorded with much-improved production, 'Technically Alive' proved to be one of the band's biggest and best songs, and tracks like 'Reveal Yourself', 'Godspeed' and the title track padded out a remarkable debut, complete with some deliciously cringe accompanying music videos.

A debut that blended emotion and heaviness in a way many of the time could only dream of, the album received 8s and 9s out of 10 from the likes of Metal Hammer, Rocksound and Kerrang!, leading to appearances at Download Festival and a support slot for 36 Crazyfists.

Sadly, while the foundations were solid, momentum and finances curtailed the band, leading to their breakup in 2014 following 2011's more melodic - and also brilliant - sophomore 'Give Me Infinity'.
