10 Most Underrated Mötley Crüe Songs
6. Anarchy In The UK - Supersonic And Demon Relics
The heart of Motley Crue has always been in punk rock. As far back as the band's pre glam rock days, Nikki was always drawn to the more raucous side of rock and roll, especially when it came to the more rowdy bands like The Runaways in the late '70s. So when the boys needed a new song for a compilation, why not cover one of the bands who helped get all this chaos started?
From the first minute Vince Neil opens his mouth, this is exactly the kind of cover that you want Motley Crue involved with, taking the rough and tumble sound of the Sex Pistols' original song and turning it up to 1000. Though the arrangement of the tune hasn't really changed all that much, it's all about the way that the band delivers the track, with Tommy Lee putting a sleek and groovy backbeat behind everything that manages to give Paul Cook a run for his money in the process.
You also have to give credit to Vince Neil here, who's pipes were a lot more raw and gritty during this era of the group, making him a natural fit to take on Johnny Rotten. While the Crue themselves might not even claim to come close to the Pistols' throne, they at least deserve an honorary punk rock knighthood with something like this.
