10 Most Unexpected Collaborations In Modern Rock

5. Brian May & Dappy

Anyone remember Dappy? Or his group N-Dubz? No? Didn't think so.

If you're not British and weren't young during the late noughties, then you've got absolutely no chance of recalling this short-lived pop hip hop trio comprised of Tulisa Contostavlos, Fazer, and our main man Dappy.

The act were pretty successful, scoring a slew of hit albums and singles before disbanding in 2011, leaving the door open for Dappy for pursue a solo career.

In need of a big name for his debut album Bad Intentions, the rapper thought "I know, let me get in touch with the guitarist from one of the biggest rock bands of all time."

Lo and behold, Brian May of Queen fame actually agreed to be part of the record, featuring on the song Rockstar. Not that you'd really be able to tell it was him - he just plays a bit of guitar towards the end.

Apparently the two got in touch after May made comments about how "unique" and "interesting" Dappy was as an artist. Nobody tell him that Brian was probably being sarcastic. It would break the little guy's heart.
