This one is tragic, and shows a much darker side to the music industry that no-one really wants to think about. Over the course of the last year, the American singer Kesha has made a host of allegations regarding her former producer and mentor Dr Luke. Kesha accused Dr Luke of mental manipulation, emotional abuse and sexual assault, and is attempting be freed from her contract with him. According to Kesha who signed with Dr Luke at the young age of eighteen the producer forced her to take drugs and subsequently raped her. This legal battle with such a prominent producer (who is safely housed under Sony Music) has resulted in severe brand damage, which The Los Angeles Times reports is past the point of no return. Unable to record, tour or market merchandise since the allegations were made, it seems Kesha has become a victim in more ways than one.
