10 Musical Superstars You Never Knew Wrote Other Artists' Hit Songs
7. Kesha
Since Tik Tok re-released, Kesha (formerly known as “Ke$ha”) has topped the charts with multiplatinum singles, including Your Love is my Drug and We R Who We R, and as a featured artist on Pitbull’s Timber. As far as musical careers go, Kesha has earned her spot on the charts—and in the music industry. We’re talking four studio albums, two EPs, and 28 singles.
However, Kesha hit the music scene well before her first major song feature with Flo Rida’s Right Round in 2009. The Animal superstar’s songwriting credits start in 2007 when she penned Lace and Leather for Britney Spears’ Circus album. Kesha wrote another tune for the Femme Fatale star, ’Till the World Ends, which Kesha described as the most essential to her career, sharing, "It really solidifies me as a songwriter in the pop music world, which is what I consider myself first and foremost."
Given the Blow songstress also wrote Ariana Grande’s Pink Champagne and, most recently, This Love from W0LVES 2019 album Bring You Home, it's safe to say she's solidified.
