It was a sad day for all of the pop punk community when Blink-182 decided to call it quits. After a string of some of the best albums in the genre, it was clear that Mark, Tom, and Travis weren't on the same creative page anymore. While there may have been a long road to a reunion, Travis was taken to the brink a few years before.

As Barker was touring with his buddy DJ AM, they were en route to Van Nuys when one of the plane's tires blew out, leading to the aircraft plummeting towards the ground and crashing into an embankment. By the time the EMTs arrived on the scene, Barker and AM were the only survivors, with Barker almost burned from head to toe.

This did help fix some of the bad blood in the Blink camp though. With everyone coming to help Travis, Mark and Tom decided to patch up their differences and even made a surprise appearance at the Grammys with Travis still in a cast announcing that they were planning on getting back together. This did take a heavy toll on Travis' mind though, as he never entertains the idea of going in a plane ever again.
