10 Musicians Who Died On Stage
8. Nick Menza
It's safe to assume that most people knew Nick Menza as the former drummer for the thrash metal band Megadeth.
He was with the band for close to a decade and performed on four albums, which is where he managed to find his biggest acclaim and success. However, Menza's departure from the band helped him to try and find his own musical identity.
Unfortunately for the talented drummer, his life would be cut short at the age of 51 as he was performing with a band he formed called OHM. The group were three songs into a set at The Baked Potato Jazz Club in Los Angeles when he suddenly collapsed. In response, Menza was rushed to a local hospital but pronounced dead on arrival. His demise was the result of congestive heart failure.
Menza once came close to losing an arm in a power saw incident and ended up auctioning the bloody blade itself alongside the original X-ray taken. Thus, it's safe to say the man lived up to his thrash metal persona.
