10 Musicians Who Have Joined Multiple Bands
9. Jack White
For most fans of 2000's rock, Jack White will forever be known as the eccentric genius that led the White Stripes to super-stardom. On the other hand, White's unique approach to musical composition has led him to other groups outside of his solo career.
While the Stripes were still together, White was moonlighting in the group the Raconteurs, where he wrote music in a similar vein to his previous band, but with more elements of country and blues. Working with fellow songwriter Brandon Boyd, White was finally in a position where he could collaborate on songs rather than being the sole composer.
Towards the end of the White Stripes' tenure, White also formed the basis of the Dead Weather, whose sound had its roots more firmly in the alternative rock sphere. This project marked a unique change of pace for White as he took on the duties as a drummer. The style may have shifted a touch, but White's artistic sensibilities certainly shine through as bright as ever.
Whether it be the visceral energy of the White Stripes or the freewheeling vibes of the Raconteurs, each of these bands has an off-the-wall aggression that emanates from White's soul. The bands may not sound the same, but you always know the music will be of a certain quality with Jack White leading the charge.
