10 New Bands That Prove Rock Isn't Dead
5. Press To MECO
Press to MECO are an eclectic melting pot of alt rock, prog, post-hardcore and pop punk, best described by comedian and That's Not Metal podcast co-host Stephen Hill as "like Weezer covering Meshuggah". The Kent-based trio incorporate 3-part harmonies into their sound, earning early acclaim from their second EP Affinity.
This momentum was carried into their 2015 debut Good Intent, the crowd-funded album featured collaborations with UK producer Dan Weller (Enter Shikari, SikTh, LostAlone, Kids in Glass Houses) and brought together influences and sounds from the alternative, the mainstream, and everywhere in between. Along the way, they have toured with the likes of Black Peaks, Max Raptor, SHVPES, and are currently enjoying a run with Devil Sold His Soul and SikTh.
The sophomore Here's to the Fatigue was due mid-November 2017, however a week prior to release the band announced a delay to the intended release. No reason has been given as of yet but their SikTh / DSHS tour has continued as planned and they have assured fans that it will be released.
Based on the two released singles - the title track and 'If All Your Parts Don't Make a Whole' - the wait will be totally worth it.
