10 Notable Artists With Incomplete Catalogs On Spotify
5. King Crimson
Formed in 1968, the progressive-rock supergroup known as King Crimson has released 13 studio albums, including 1969's In The Court Of The Crimson King, 1974's Red, 1984's Three Of A Perfect Pair and 2003's The Power To Believe. But if a Spotify user in the United States were to search for King Crimson, they would not find any of those albums. Instead, they would only find two live albums, a live EP and one live single from that live EP. In turn, Spotify listeners are not able to hear prog-rock staples like Heartbeat, Sleepless or Three Of A Perfect Pair.
King Crimson leader Robert Fripp has also been selective about Spotify exposure when it comes to his solo catalog. Collaborations and one-offs can be streamed, but not any of his solo albums. However, all of bassist Tony Levin's solo releases appear to be on Spotify, as are many of the solo efforts of former King Crimson member Adrian Belew.
For those who enjoy Fripp, Levin and crew and wish to see them in concert, however, the group's Spotify profile appears to be up to date with publicity photos, tour dates and merchandise available for sale.
