10 Oasis Songs That Beat 'Live Forever' In The Charts

7. Stand By Me

As attention turned away from Oasis' second album, it only diverted to the third. 'Be Here Now' featured 'D'You Know What I Mean?', 'All Around the World' and 'Stand By Me', all of which placed higher in the charts than 'Live Forever'.

'Stand By Me' was the only one of that trio to not reach number one. Despite 'Live Forever' earning a Platinum sales-rating from the British Phonographic Industry, 'Stand By Me' still proved more popular in the chart ratings. By this point, it was a near-given that multiple Oasis tunes would be destined for chart stardom. The band, in turn, kept giving.

The track undoubtedly highlighted the sheer popularity of the band, and proved subtly ironic, as a tune supposedly dedicated to Noel's food poisoning could reach number two on the charts.
