10 Perfect 1980s Rock Albums With No Bad Songs

5. Too Fast For Love - Motley Crue

So....it's pretty much unavoidable to go this entire list and not talk about glam metal in some capacity. For most rock fans growing up in this decade, this is the music that made them fans of the genre, with acts like Poison and Cinderella being mainstays on MTV. If you're looking for the best of the best though, you have to look at the bands that started it back in the early '80s.

Which is strange considering how much more polished Motley Crue would sound after Too Fast For Love. As their career progressed, albums like Theater of Pain and Girls Girls Girls would have a lot more sheen than this rough around the edges record. When these guys were just getting their feet wet though, they made for some of the most dangerous sounding songs on the Strip.

Much like Appetite for Destruction by Guns N Rorses did a few years later, this is the Sunset Strip scene at street level, with songs like Piece of Your Action and Take Me to the Top sounding like a cross between the punk sound of the late '70s meshed with the theatricality of KISS. Also, if you were looking for a song that symbolized the entire generation of hair metal, Live Wire may be a contender for the top spot. The Crue would make a lot more impressive strides since this record, but they never sounded more hungry than this album.
