10 Perfect Albums From 2019 To Chill To
1. Robyn – Honey
Okay, yes, this one was from 2018 but it still sounds absolutely incredible 15 months after its release. But after Hallowe’en it’s pretty much next year, right?! After having one of the most influential records of the decade in 2010, Body Talk, Honey took things down a quieter and more introspective avenue. Setting aside the previous work’s heartbreak in the club vibe, Honey experimented with songs that didn’t have a recognisable beginning, middle or end. The result was simply sublime.
The glittery arpeggios of Missing U mixed with Robyn’s heart-break tinged vocals can stir up emotions in even the coldest of hearts, while the title track is purely and simply a masterpiece. Another highlight is the most conventional pop song on the album, Ever Again, which Robyn performed on the Ellen de Generes show.
Robyn is fully deserving of her place in pop royalty, and you can expect Honey to be one of those albums you keep going back to for years to come! You’re welcome ;)
