10 Perfect Albums Ruined By One Song

7. Seamus - Pink Floyd

It was a long road that Pink Floyd had to walk in order to reach Meddle. Outside of having to lose Syd Barrett and integrate David Gilmour into the band as a full time singer and guitarist, this feels like the album where Pink Floyd started to become the band that we know today, with Echoes standing as their first true epic song. It's just a shame that before that we had to hear what sounds like a dog getting hurt in the studio.

Though Echoes takes up most of the second half of the record, Seamus comes on right before the song. At first, it feels like we're still cruising, with the nice bluesy tone of the guitar setting a nice mood for the rest of the track. As soon as you start to settle in though, you start to hear a dog barking for no apparent reason.

Yeah, so what happened here was Floyd actually had a dog in the studio at the time and decided to play him a few of the songs and see how he reacted by hearing their wild take on prog rock music. Our good boy may have enjoyed it, but it doesn't make it any less fun to listen to again and again. You know how the Beatles have that meme going across the Internet about how it's okay to leave your dog in a hot car? Yeah, how the hell have Floyd not picked up on puns like that in the Internet age?
