10 Perfect Albums Ruined By One Song

6. TOOTIME - The 1975

In case it's not clear to all of us, the 1975 seem to have a bit of a fascination with some retro styles. As if the actual title of the band wasn't a little bit on the nose, you have the glamorous music videos along with some graphics that also feel like they are ripped straight out of the '80s. The 1975 will get to all of the throwbacks eventually, but their attempt to be Radiohead on a Brief Inquiry just stops in the middle for TOOTIME.

Though the actual song construction is the same as you'd expect on any other 1975 song, most of the issues with this song tend to come down to production. In lieu of the usual glittery production on every other song, this goes too far in that direction and ends up being too glittery for its own good.

From the sound of it, Matty Healy almost sounds unrecognizable on this track, sounding more like a cyborg version of himself as he tries to defend himself for cheating on his girl. And trust me, it doesn't get any better when they hit you over the head with the chorus so many times that you'll wonder if you have the song on loop. Guys, of all the people that you wanted to copy on this new album, why did you make it the same old sounds of Drake?
