10 Perfect Hard Rock Albums With No Bad Songs

7. The Battle of Los Angeles - Rage Against the Machine

Honestly, you could probably throw a dart at nearly any Rage Against the Machine record and find something amazing. With just three albums of original material to their name, you'd be hardpressed to find any other rock band who has as consistent a track record as these rap rock pioneers. If we're talking one of the greatest that they've ever made though, The Battle of Los Angeles is their most succinct statement out of the bunch.

After years of blowing minds out of the California area, Rage's third album runs almost like a concept album with its delivery, showing the lives of everyday Americans at the turn of the '00s. From the opening clangor of Testify, there is no letting up across the rest of this record, as Zack de la Rocha builds one classic line after another while Tom Morello makes sounds that no guitar should ever make.

You also have to remember that this was at the height of nu metal, when bands like Limp Bizkit and Fear Factory were starting to piggyback off of the mix of rap and rock that Rage helped pioneer back in the early '90s. Almost a decade later, these guys didn't just have something more to say. This was them leading the rap rock charge and proving that they were still the best in their field.
