10 Pop-Punk Bands Whose Second Album Was Better Than Their First

1. All Time Low

Arguably the band with the most obscure debut album on this list, All Time Low's The Party Scene was released in 2005 - but the album was so overlooked that five of the tracks ended up being re-recorded for an EP - Put Up Or Shut Up.

Music videos were released for Circles and The Girl's A Straight Up Hustler, but All Time Low's first album is now a very tricky find and sells for upwards of $100.

Meanwhile, their next full-length album couldn't have been further away from this. So Wrong, It's Right sold almost 15,000 copies in its first week of release, with hit single Dear Maria, Count Me In being certified gold in 2011 and platinum in 2015. The album has since been certified Gold too in May 2017.

Only Dear Maria and Poppin' Champagne were released as singles - and the latter was unable to replicate the commercial success of Dear Maria - but the album is so fondly viewed that tracks like Let It Roll, Six Feet Under The Stars and Vegas are among the fan favourites - and the band even decided to support themselves on tour in the UK and play the entire album through to mark its tenth anniversary in 2017.

While all ten of the albums on this list have had their own glow up between albums one and two, the difference between All Time Low's are almost literally night and day - one barely seen, one so bright, it shot the band into the limelight and gave them a platform for the 15 years-plus which have followed!
