This is down to a number of factors: his controversial relationship with Kate Moss, his time in jail, and - most notably - his well-documented drug addiction. Fortunately, at the beginning of this year, it was announced that Pete has completed his drug rehabilitation in Thailand and is fully involved in the creation of the the new Libertines album. As long as he's able to stay clean this time, the band's music should be able to receive the proper attention it deserves once again.
