9. Metallica – ‘Metal Up Your Ass’ - $2000

If you like metal or have ever attended Download Festival, there’s a 99% chance you own a Metallica t-shirt somewhere in your wardrobe. But there’s some Metallica tees out there that very few Metallica fans will ever own simply because they’re monumentally rare.

An original Metallica ‘Metal Up Your Ass’ fan club t-shirt, only the second shirt Metallica released in the early '80s, is a rare possession for anyone who’s lucky to own one. Few were made and if you have one there’s a good chance the '80s ruined it with clouds of cigarette smoke and spilled beer at concerts.

Kim Kardashian, of all people, has been seen out and about wearing the shirt, with many claiming she owns an authentic original and not a copy (there’s some wear and tear to hers in pictures). If true, it wouldn’t have come cheap, with the price tag for one of these being $2000 online. It’s fitting given her husband Kanye West has taken up band t-shirt fashion too - he’s been seen wearing Nirvana, Megadeath and even Cradle of Filth tees.

Metallica frontman James Hetfield jokingly responded when he was shown a picture of Kim wearing one of Metallica’s shirts with “That’s Kanye West, right? In drag?”
