10 Rock Albums That Artists Want You To Forget About
5. The Trilogy - Green Day
It's almost tragic to look back on how hyped Green Day were to make the Uno Dos and Tre trilogy. In one of the more daring moves they had made in their career, these pop punk brats decided that their followup to their second rock opera 21st Century Breakdown would be more ambitious than ever, with 3 albums released within months of each other. However, you tend to forget "QUALITY OVER QUANTITY" when you talk about these things.
So, do these albums really have that bad tracks on them? Well, yes and no. Though some tracks like Nightlife should have never seen the light of day, most of these cuts just end up sounding like a lesser version of the Green Day that we have come to know over the years. Even with time separating it now, Billie Joe Armstrong has wiped his hands of the entire project, stating that most of it was done just for the hell of it and wasn't helped by his addiction to pills that culminated in his meltdown at the iHeartRadio festival.
How much do they hate this album you may ask? Out of all the tracks they put together for this album, only one song from the trilogy made it onto their greatest hits album God's Favorite Band. Comparatively speaking, this is not a dealbreaker for a Green Day fan, but even Billie himself felt like his fans deserved better here.
