10 Rock Albums That You MUST Listen To In Full

8. Kid A - Radiohead

Coming out of the '90s, Radiohead could go pretty much anywhere and still see success. After making the landmark record OK Computer, these former one hit wonders had turned into one of the most forceful rock acts to emerge from the decade, pointing rock's way into the next generation. Just when you were about to be hit with another helping of alt rock, Thom Yorke unpacked his synthesizers and started again from scratch.

In the midst of the hectic touring life, Yorke started to play with Radiohead's initial sound, going in a much more experimental direction for Kid A. Throughout every single track on here, the keyboards in both the background and foreground fill you with dread, as if Yorke is preparing you for the end of the world. Even for a song like Everything In Its Right Place, it feels like something dangerous is about to happen at every corner.

As you venture further, songs like The National Anthem deliver a warped version of the alt-rock punchiness the band were known for while also pulling at their sound like taffy on Idioteque. By the time you get to the final moments of Motion Picture Soundtrack, you're pretty much reeling from the onslaught of music thrown at you. Just like their heroes like U2 and the Beatles had reinvented themselves, Kid A is the sound of Radiohead finding themselves in real time, with each track serving as its own unique creative undertaking.
