10 Rock Artists That Had Hit Albums Over A Decade Apart

1. Black Sabbath - 30 Years

For most of the 1970s, Black Sabbath were unstoppable.

They changed the rock scene with their self-titled release, topped the charts with Paranoid, and released many more popular albums on their way to become the biggest heavy metal band in the entire world.

However, like with all good rock bands, there was trouble brewing.

In 1979, original lead singer Ozzy Osbourne was given the sack for excessive use of alcohol and drugs. As The Prince of Darkness would go on to reinvent himself as a solo act, the band he left behind struggled.

Their final top ten album of the 20th Century was 1983's Born Again. What followed was years of disappointing results, before the band packed it all in after 1995's Forbidden.

However, to quote Sabbath's 1978 album, Never Say Die!

In 2013, with Ozzy back, Black Sabbath made their triumphant return with 13. Thanks to their long hiatus and due to some very good songs, 13 was a chart-topper.

Three full decades after they last hit the UK top ten (and 42 years since they'd done the same in America), Black Sabbath proved that there was life in the old dog yet.
