10 Rock Artists That Had Hit Albums Over A Decade Apart

6. Guns N’ Roses - 15 Years

Ah, the ballad of Chinese Democracy; one of rock music's most twisted tales.

Originally scheduled for a release in 1999, Guns N' Roses' sixth studio album brought a new meaning to the words "development hell", as it was severely mucked about with by none other than Axl Rose.

It didn't help that most of the band's most prominent members (including Slash) left in the mid-90s, leaving nobody brave or senior enough to challenge Rose's mad ramblings.

Most of the album was re-recorded in 2000, which didn't help matters, as more deadlines came and went without so much of a peep out of the studio.

Finally after years of drama, Chinese Democracy did get a release on November 15th 2008. Whilst it didn't sell as well as expected, nor did it blow fans away musically, it did enough to reach number three in the US charts.

15 years to the day earlier, Guns N' Roses had released "The Spaghetti Incident?", a covers album that had gone to number four on the Billboard listings.

GNR made a little bit of history with Chinese Democracy, although that certainly was not the original plan.
