10 Rock Artists With Multiple Classics Under Their Belt

2. Radiohead

If most of Radiohead's career was limited to what they did in the early '90s, we would be in for a fairly short conversation. While the band's flirting with alternative rock may have been serviceable at the time, it wasn't until their later records that they really started to come into their own, with the Bends embracing the world of Britpop and putting a lot more swagger in their delivery. With OK Computer though, Radiohead went from fighting off one hit wonder status to becoming the next gods of rock and roll.

Being one of the last records to send off the '90s, OK Computer is almost prophetic in what it meant for rock music, talking about the emergence of new technology and trying to hold onto your humanity in the process of every day life like on Paranoid Android and Karma Police. The band could have easily just become the '90s answer to a band like U2, but by the time they reached the next decade, they were already miles away from their first masterpiece.

Looking to embrace the digital side of themselves, Kid A was the line in the sand where Radiohead decided to make something different, with every track having a cold and calculated sound that makes you feel like you're seeing the most sterilized version of what emotional rock and roll was supposed to be. While there might have been a lot of synthetic coating to Kid A, making everything artificial actually helped us see some of the tortured souls behind the music.
