10 Rock Bands That Never Made The Same Album Twice

1. The Beatles

Compared to what we see today, the era just before the '60s got started looks like a barren wasteland. If the entire concept of rock and roll was riding on people like Frankie Avalon singing about teddy bears and the like, it's no wonder that people thought that this was a passing fad that would fade out in a few years. That is, until the Beatles managed to turn the entire concept of stardom inside out.

To say that the Fab Four grabbed the world by the throat would probably still be underselling it, with albums like A Hard Day's Night making them the hottest teenybopper group in the world. Towards the end of 1965 though, the Beatles went on a bender for the ages, with every single new album having a different sound for both the mainstream charts and Western music in general.

I mean, the sounds of Rubber Soul and Revolver almost seem like night and day, with the different brands of folk rock and psychedelia being covered within the span of just a few months. Even the fallout of their relationships proved to be interesting in and of itself, with Abbey Road's bombast and Let It Be's weariness setting the tone for the next stage of rock. Even though many bands manage to notch up respectable hits on the charts, there's a good chance that none of us will be able to achieve the legendary status that these lads from Liverpool picked up in just 8 years.
