10 Rock Bands With Awesome Shows You Must See

5. Iron Maiden

Another band whose live shows have stood the test of time, Iron Maiden are never known to disappoint when it comes to production value. Ever since 1975, this band have told epic and haunted tales through the medium of heavy-metal, taking their show across the globe regularly. Even at age 61, Bruce Dickinson still has pipes we all envy, and the energy to sprint around their massive set-up for the duration of their lengthy performances.

The stage itself is typically of a haunting, medieval design- suited perfectly for Iron Maiden’s music. The biggest staple of their show is of course the band’s mascot, Eddie. This skeletal, decomposing character is brought on stage at every show, usually styled as some form of undead soldier, parading around and stealing the limelight.

Iron Maiden like to push the boundaries of what they can do with their production, causing them to stand out ahead of similar bands from the same era. For example, at Download Festival 2013, they flew a Spitfire plane over the crowd to open the show.

You may have attended some cool gigs, but only a select few can say they’ve seen an operational WWII fighter jet at a heavy-metal concert.
