10 Rock Bands You Forgot Were GREAT

8. Ween

What the hell kinda music do Ween even make? These guys have such a unique way of blending genres that trying to categories their music in any conventional way is a wasted effort. Tentacle bubble blues, galactic space rock, underwater funk fusion, whatever images those words conjure up, that's what Ween are.

Although the band has often been compared to Frank Zappa, they have denied he had much of an influences on them. It's still a useful comparisons to make for anyone unfamiliar with them, however. They definitely exist outside of the musical norm, much like Zappa did.

For most rock lovers, Ween have likely popped up at some point on the road of musical discovery, and although they do take a bit of getting used to, it's worth revisiting them.

The 1997 album The Mollusk is such a weird and wonderful exploration of the rock genre, fusing all manor of themes and concepts to create a sound distinctly their own.

For anyone a fan of Spongebob Squarepants this album had a huge influence on the shows creator Stephen Hillenburg. Plus their songs My Party is one of the smoothest tracks to include the phrase "succulent juices".
