10 Rock Music Bands With Unique Selling Points

6. A Multi-Year Storyline - Coheed And Cambria

Have you ever wanted to have to do homework before listening to an album? Then good news! Because Coheed and Cambria have a decades-long narrative for you to swot up on!

Since the release of their 2002 debut, The Second Stage Turbine Blade, this progressive metal band have been telling the tale of The Armory Wars, a science-fiction saga dreamt up by frontman Claudio Sanchez.

All bar one of their ten studio releases are devoted in some way to the story, which centres around a group of planets held together by mysterious forces and the lives of those who live there. If you're scratching your head right now, don't worry, you won't be the only one.

If all this wasn't confusing enough, the albums also tell the story out of order! The first four go chronologically, but after that, it's all over the place. Oh, and there are comic books and a full-length novel you'll need to read to fully get your head around things.

Despite the fact that all of this sounds utterly bonkers, Coheed and Cambria's devotion to their craft has earned them a rabid cult following. Don't expect the Armory Wars to end any time soon.
