4. Jihad - Slayer - (India)

It shouldn't come as a surprise that a band who once wrote a song about a Nazi scientist have come under fire for their music over the years.

Slayer released their tenth studio album, Christ Illusion, in 2006, reuniting the group's original members for the first time in 16 years.

The album did well amongst critics, picking up two Grammys, and sold enough to slot in nicely at number five on the US Billboard charts. One place it didn't sell was India, where the entire record was outlawed.

As well as the image of a mutilated Jesus on the front cover, Indian faith groups also took offence to some of the song titles - one of which was Skeleton Christ - and the themes of religion present throughout the lyrics.

The song Jihad came under particular scrutiny, as it was written from the perspective of a terrorist. A Mumbai-based Christian group even went so far as to report it to the police, saying that it would offend Muslims and "secular Indians who have respect for all faiths".

Did Slayer learn their lesson and tone down their future releases?
