4. Bad Name - Atreyu

Named after the character in The Neverending Story, Atreyu have been making music on and off from 1998 to the present day with a few line up changes along the way. While they have been described as mainly metalcore, their sound has varied over the years and adopted different sounds between albums.

Jon Bon Jovi and the band that uses his name have been staples of the rock scene from the early eighties and are still active today, closing in on four decades of musical brilliance. With songs featured in many film soundtracks and tunes such as "Livin' On A Prayer" and "Bad Medicine" being hardwired into the memory of fans, they are true legends with a back-catalogue to match.

One of their most famous songs is "You Give Love A Bad Name" and Atreyu's version of it definitely gives it a new feel. While the harsh vocals during the verses may be grating to listeners who aren't fond of screaming, when Brandon Saller (Atreyu's drummer and clean vocalist) breaks into that catchy chorus, it is everything the original was and more.

Another example of a cover that just oozes how much love this band has for the original artist.
