http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAYd1HOtVgY Whether or not this is strictly a song in its own right is probably a debate going on in Beatles fan clubs and internet forums the world over, but this smooth cutting of the 8-track medley on the second side of Abbey Road is quite capable of standing alone in the Fab Four canon. Its inherent softness ever threatens to spill into melancholy, but the strength in McCartneys voice is sturdy glue for the dreamy melodies and spacey beats. Note-perfect and exactly where it needs to be on this seminal LP, in a meagre space of time this will either have you in happy tears or pleasant sleep, for when Paul promises to sing a lullaby, thats exactly what you get.
