10 Surprising Details You Didn't Know About The Killers
3. 'Miss Atomic Bomb' Is A Sequel To 'Mr. Brightside'
Speaking of 'Mr. Brightside' one last time (pinky promise), did you know another of the band's hits is actually a sequel to it?
'Miss Atomic Bomb' off of their 2012 album 'Battle Born' acts as both a sequel to 'Mr. Brightside' and as a companion piece. Much like 'Mr. Brightside' there were two videos released for 'Miss Atomic Bomb'. One is just footage of the band playing live shows, while the other was more narrative focused. Video number two expands upon the story of the original 2004 video bringing back the dramatic love triangle and even includes actors Izabella Miko and Eric Roberts from it.
One interesting thing about the second music video is how it mixes live-action with animation. The live-action bits are used to show the reality of the situation, while the animated parts show the more nostalgic fantasy side to the story. It's stylized in a way that makes it both more visually satisfying and gives it a heavier emotional impact.
While 'Miss Atomic Bomb' works as a great standalone, when put together with 'Mr. Brightside' the two tell a better love story in about ten minutes than most movies do in ninety.
