10 Times Fans Saved Imperfect Albums
5. The King Of Limbs - Radiohead
Radiohead has one of the most interesting discographies of any rock band in recent memory. From the apocalyptic dread of Kid A to the unabashed musical craftsmanship on In Rainbows, every single album by this band feels like a complete experience from front to back. And then there's the King of Limbs...
Going for a more trancey mood with this record, Radiohead's 8th effort ended up sounding like a bunch of meandering ideas rather than a fully fleshed out album.
With just a handful of cuts and a few lukewarm sleeper songs, fans weren't this underwhelmed by a Radiohead project since Pablo Honey. This may have been what the band wanted to release, but the actual fan revisions have ended up sounding much more interesting.
Though most of these revisions ended up keeping some songs intact like "Codex" and "Lotusflower," fans have included some discarded songs that fit the vibe of the record, such as "Staircase" and "The Daily Mail." Even some of the live versions of these tracks from Live from the Basement have turned into the ideal take for select fans.
There's a lot to appreciate about Radiohead's first effort with this record, but the quality of these tracks ended up getting 1000% better once they left the studio.
