10 Times Rock Musicians Stopped Their Own Shows

1. Dave Grohl Plays Peacekeeper

Dave Grohl must have been taking notes when he watched Kurt Cobain deal with that assault back in 1993, because, 18 years later, he did something very similar.

Only he did it much more dramatically.

Grohl's Foo Fighters were playing the iTunes festival in London, England, when the frontman noticed something amiss in the crowd. He advised his band to stop playing, before turning his ire to an audience member who was apparently fighting.

How they managed to start a scrap during Skin and Bones, one of the softest songs in the Foos' arsenal, beggars belief.

The ex-Nirvana drummer then unleashed a tirade of bad language, blasting the rowdy fan. In an all-time great quote, Grohl reminded his adversary that "You don’t come to my show and fight, you come to my show and f**kin' dance, you a**hole.”

Now that's how you break up a fight.

This moment has since gone on to achieve legendary status, proof that Grohl is a complete and utter legend.

It might not be the best thing for the flow of the show, but every musician should know that, when it comes to fan safety, nothing is more important.
