10 Truly Terrible Albums By Legendary Artists
6. Kiss - Music From The Elder
When a band of such unashamed self-publicists as Kiss actively disown an album, you know it's got to be bad. Riding high after years of stadium filling tours and multi-platinum albums, Kiss were in a position where they felt they could do no wrong. What to do next was the question.
Make another collection of kickass Kiss classics, or a concept album without one decent song to its name? Of course, they went with the latter.
Looking back, Gene Simmons accepts the blame for the disaster; it was his idea and he has confessed that he was badly mistaken, if not a little delusional to think the idea could work. The reception from fans, critics and even their record company was terrible. It remains the band's poorest selling album.
Kiss turned things around with the follow-up, 'Creatures Of The Night'. After a few years of success without their iconic make-up, they returned to their original over the top approach much to the delight of the Kiss army, who have always preferred the golden age to the later work.
Currently on their farewell tour, the last chance to ever see them live isn't far away - don't miss out.
