I think we can all agree that rock tends to get a bit too serious for its own good every now and again. Even though you have bands who can deliver on making albums that tug at your heartstrings, not everything needs to be about life and death whenever you put on the headphones. Metal's also about fun, and there's no one who knows that fact better than Andrew WK.

First of all, there's pretty much nothing not to like about someone like Andrew on principle. From his amped energy to his amazing skills behind every instrument he touches, this is the kind of positive attitude guy that we need so much more of in the metal scene. Though the title may seem a bit cheeky at the moment, God is Partying is shaping up to be one of Andrew's best set of songs in the past few years.

Whereas some bands try and fail to do something funny or tongue in cheek every once in a while, this is the kind of positivity that is so sincere that it comes back around to being endearing. For as many times as Andrew comes around with his heavy metal celebration, it's never really worn out its welcome over the years. There's enough negative energy out there...it's time to party.
