10 Upcoming Heavy Metal Albums That Have Us Excited
5. In The Court Of The Dragon - Trivium
Date: October 8th
What Trivium has gone through in the past few years alone should have been enough to kill any other metal band. From the vocal issues that Matt Heafy was having to the massive amount of grueling tours, any other act would be taking an extended hiatus and not reuniting for another few years. As we wait for In the Court of the Dragon though, what Heafy and the boys have been delivering truly is superhuman.
Aside from just the maniacal riffs, Matt has retained one of the most dependable vocals in the game right now. Miles away from the vocal issues from back in the day, Heafy has a great amount of control of his voice at this stage, going from amazing growls to some of the most grizzly melodies that have come out of any metal band in the past 20 years.
The playing has only grown stronger too, turning the twin guitar attack of this band into a glorious symphony, even putting the old guard of people like Glenn Tipton and KK Downing to shame. Whereas the classic records always managed to show us a different side of what Trivium can do, the streak that they're on right now feels like they're reaching their most concentrated form as a creative unit.
