10 Worst Songs On Classic Albums

2. My World - Guns N Roses

Say what you want to about Use Your Illusion by Guns N Roses...you can't fault them for not being ambitious. Across two different albums released on the same day, the kings of the Sunset Strip managed to put together a hodge podge of every sound they could possibly think of, from the piano balladry of November Rain to the relentless journey of Civil War. On the other hand, My World is where the entire project jumped the shark.

Whereas other songs may have had clearly thought out inspirations, this boils down to a bunch of shrooms and a bad idea. While finishing up the final mixes for the album, Axl Rose was high on magic mushrooms and decided that the record needed one more song to feel complete. Throwing together an industrial backbeat behind him, this is one of the worst mismatches of styles in rock history, as Axl sounds like he's trying to be Nine Inch Nails.

For as much as Rose is able to strike an intimidating presence, his attempts to sound like Trent Reznor feel less disturbing and more like a school bully throwing you up against a locker for a few minutes. By the time the track eventually lets up and ends the album, you're left with more than a few questions about Axl's sanity. Even though Axl would go on to prove that he was just starting his ego trip, there's no excuse for letting this end up on the record.
